Community Involvement
Lisa has been involved in many community activities. As Deputy Mayor of the Town of Clarenville since 2005, she chairs the Economic Development Committee, is a member of the Finance Committee and served on the Clarenville Area Arts and Recreation Centre Committee.

She has served as President of the Rotary Club of Clarenville, chaired the Marketing and Communications Committee of Relay for Life, co-hosted the local show Our Town on SCAN-TV and served on the Executive of the Clarenville Nordic Ski Club.

From 1999-2005, she was elected as an alumni representative on the Board of Regents, Memorial University of Newfoundland. In that position she sat on the Finance Committee and chaired the Audit and Risk Management Committee. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Rooms Corporation and chairs their Strategic Planning Committee and is a member of the Finance Committee.

Since becoming Deputy Mayor, Lisa has taken a particular interest in speaking about municipal politics and community involvement to young people. She meets with Grade 5 students of Balbo Elementary School every year to talk about municipal government and to hear their thoughts on how to improve the town. She has also spoken to groups such as the girl guides and brownies and at a Discovery Regional Development Symposium about women in politics.
